Fabric Covered Rope Basket Orange and Floral Print
Easter is just around the corner. Fill this basket with all kinds of treats. Use after Easter to decorate your home or use for organizing. Many years ago my grandmother and I would sew together yards and yards of scraps to make baskets, trivets and coasters. That was my inspiration for this basket Made from orange cotton and orange, pink and yellow floral print fabrics and cotton rope. The basket begins at the bottom as the rope and fabric are sewn together layer by layer until the basket begins to take shape. The basket color is mostly orange with an band of floral print fabric in the center. The same fabric makes up the lining of the basket. A ruffle of batik fabric is sewn around the edge of the basket. The handle is made in the same fashion.
